Mini-makeover at Rundle Mall to entice shoppers back
Rundle Mall could be in line for a mini-makeover as crowds begin to return to their former strength and traders weigh new installations to boost them even further.

Fairy lights, heaters, more digital screens and music will be used to attract shoppers back to Rundle Mall this month.
The Rundle Mall Management Authority is promising more food pop-ups, extra meeting spots with seating, heaters and flowers, art installations and greenery through winter.
Police and security patrols will increase and extra cleaning of benches, bins and drinking fountains, started in March, will continue.
“Visitation has been steadily building since early May as more retailers re-open their doors,” RMMA general manager Johanna Williams said.
“That will increase further as workers return to their city offices in line with health advice. Our plan for the rest of 2020 is underpinned by the need to provide a safe, clean and welcoming environment, with a focus on delivering new experiences and spaces.
“(They will) create a colourful, inviting and comfortable hub that attracts visitors while complying with social distancing.”
More than 90 per cent of businesses in and around the mall have reopened.
The online “Rundle Mall at home” program, including busking performances, videos by traders and promotional deals, is set to continue.
