Disability provider Minda has been plunged into crisis with two of its most senior executives suddenly leaving the organisation.

Sources familiar with the matter said chief executive officer Kym Shreeve and executive manager of client services Jocelyn Graham had left their roles, effective immediately.

However, a Minda spokeswoman said the pair had previously spoken of leaving.

“The chief executive officer and executive manager of client services recently advised the Minda board of their intention to leave Minda,” a statement said.

“The two executives departed the organisation yesterday.”

The Advertiser has been told several other staff members, including managers, resigned from their roles after news of Ms Shreeve and Ms Graham’s departure was circulated on Friday.

An interim chief financial officer appointed on a six-month contract also recently departed after a few weeks in the job.

It is understood Minda, one of the state’s largest service providers under the federally administered NDIS, will undergo a midterm quality audit on Monday.

A source said there had been ongoing issues with funding and service delivery within the organisation.

“This (cutting staff) is standard operating procedure for Minda … they do this instead of addressing the real problems,” the source said.

Judy Curran, an experienced chief executive and former Minda board member, has been appointed interim-chief executive, effective immediately.

Lorraine Sheppard, who sits on the board, has been appointed as a consultant to lead the client services division.

On Friday, Minda moved to assure clients and families there would be no change to services, saying the organisation “remains in very good hands”.

“It will be business-as-usual for our frontline staff as they continue to provide the very best of care and support to our valued clients,” the statement said.

Ms Shreeve and Ms Graham declined to comment when contacted by The Advertiser.

Opposition human services spokeswoman Nat Cook said it was concerning that “Minda has seen four chief executives come and go in the past three years”.

“It is incumbent upon the Marshall Liberal Government to ensure one of the state’s largest disability support providers is operating in its clients best interests,” she said.

Human Services Minister Michelle Lensink declined to comment.
