A MAN is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a car on King William Rd, Adelaide, in the vicinity of the Adelaide Oval where the Crows battled the Cats in the thrilling AFL match.

The incident occurred just after 8.30pm near the intersection of Victoria Drive.
The man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.
Police and ambulance crews at the scene faced the daunting challenge of thousands of footy fans streaming out of Adelaide Oval after the AFL match between Adelaide and Geelong.
One fan who took to social media, praised police and emergency services in their orderly handling of the situation.
Traffic restrictions were in place and motorists were asked to avoid the area.
People leaving Adelaide Oval after the game were asked to stay on the western side of the road (the Elder Park side of the road) or avoid King William Rd completely.
The AFL Footy Express bus services had also been altered as a result of the incident.
Late on Thursday night, SA Police confirmed that Major Crash Investigators attended the incident.
