Man in his 70s flown to RAH after suffering facial burns while trying to put out motorhome blaze at McCracken property

A man is in the RAH being treated for serious facial burns after a fire at his property on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

An elderly man has been flown to hospital with serious burns after trying to extinguish his motorhome that caught alight on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The man in his 70s, suffered facial burns when he was trying to fight the fire on his property at McCracken on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services arrived at the home just after 1pm, where they found the man with injuries.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze that completely destroyed the motorhome.

The man was treated by paramedics who hosed him down with water at the scene.

He was eventually flown to the RAH where he is undergoing further treatment.
