Two people have died from the flu in the past week, including one man in his 20s.
The man, together with a man in his 80s, take the death toll for the virus in South Australia to three.
Both of the men had underlying health conditions.
The deaths have prompted an urgent health warning from authorities.
“It’s especially important for people who have underlying health conditions to make sure you’re vaccinated and make sure you’re protected,” Health Minister Chris Picton told 7NEWS Adelaide on Friday.
There have been more than 7000 reported cases of influenza in the state this year.
Almost 700 of those cases required hospital admission.
