Man allegedly hits female pedestrian at Blair Athol then hands over cash

A woman was hit by a car before the alleged driver paid cash to a man known to her in a series of strange events in Adelaide’s north.

A man allegedly crashed into a female pedestrian before he handed over cash to another man known to the woman in a bizarre set of events in Blair Athol.

The alarm was initially raised about 3pm Wednesday after reports a man was robbed while seated in his car on Prospect Rd.

The victim, a Prospect man, 34, said he was in his car when a man approached him and threatened him with a knife. The suspect followed the victim to a nearby ATM, where he withdrew money.

The suspect took the cash and fled on foot, and was seen getting on a bus heading south on Prospect Rd.

Patrols flooded the area and stopped the bus, arresting the Kilburn man, 22.

Further investigations by police led them to uncover the Prospect man who was robbed, had willingly withdrawn the cash from the ATM, and gave it to the suspect, after a crash.

It is alleged the Prospect man struck a female pedestrian on Prospect Rd that day causing minor injuries.

The Andrews Farm woman, 21, who is known to the Kilburn man, was arrested and charged with hindering police before she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The Kilburn man was charged with carrying an offensive weapon and will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court while the Prospect man had his car impounded and was reported for driving unlicensed.

Investigations are ongoing.

In another separate incident, four youths including a boy aged 12 have been arrested in a stolen car at Kilkenny.

Police spotted the Nissan SUV driving on Main North Rd at Blair Athol, with checks revealing the car had been stolen from a driveway at St Clair about an hour earlier.

Patrols did not attempt to stop the car but followed it through the backstreets of Enfield and on to Regency Rd

It eventually stopped on Humphires Tce where the occupants abandoned the car and fled on foot.

A foot chase ensued and four youths were arrested including a Felixstow boy, 15, and an Evanston girl, 14, who were both charged with illegal use and will face court on Thursday.

Two passengers, a girl, 14, and a boy, 12, both from Whyalla Stuart, were also charged with illegal use and were bailed to appear in court later this month.
