Man, 42, impaled through the wrists after attempting to jump Parliament House fence

A man has been rushed to hospital to undergo emergency surgery after he was impaled through the wrist on the Parliament House fence.

A man has suffered serious injuries after becoming impaled on the Parliament House fence early this morning.

The man impaled himself through his wrist after he attempted to jump over the Parliament House fence on King William Rd about 12.30am Thursday.

Fortunately, the man was noticed by security, who called emergency services.

MFS and SAAS successfully removed a section of the fence and took the man to hospital.

The 42-year-old Grange man will need to undergo surgery but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police will speak to him once he is medically stable.
