An 18-year-old man has been charged over the horror crash on the Dukes Highway that killed 19-year-old Poppy Crozier.
Major crash investigators arrested the Murray Bridge man, who was driving a ute involved in the crash, on Friday and charged him with causing death by dangerous driving.
Poppy, a former Wilderness boarding student, died at the scene of the collision after her silver Mazda station wagon crashed along with a blue Holden ute and B-double truck, at Ki Ki just after 6.45pm on May 26.
Following the fatal smash, on an overtaking stretch of the Dukes Highway between Tailem Bend and Coonalpyn, police were appealing for dashcam footage or witnesses “to the manner of driving of the ute prior to the crash”.
Police said the ute, with personalised SA number plates, was believed to have overtaken heavy vehicles before the crash as the teen drove west towards Adelaide.
As a result of the incident the Murray Bridge man driving the Holden ute was taken to the Murray Bridge Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The man was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on August 14.
