Male youth taken to hospital after machete attack at Port Adelaide

Police are investigating a midnight stabbing in the western suburbs that has left a young man with injuries.

Police are investigating after a male youth was injured in a machete attack.

On Wednesday night, just before midnight, emergency services were called to Quebec St in Port Adelaide after authorities received reports of a stabbing.

When the crews arrived on the scene the suspect had already fled.

The victim received multiple non-life threatening injuries to his back and hand and was taken to hospital.

Police say the two people involved in the incident are known to each other.

Investigations are ongoing to locate the suspect.
