A van has crashed through the front window of an Adelaide Hills home overnight, narrowly missing the occupants inside.

Emergency services attended the scene of the incident at Nairne after a van left the road, became airborne and crashed into a house on Woodside Rd about 11pm on Saturday.

Two male occupants and their pet dog had been sitting in the front lounge room at the time of the incident.

Luckily, they all escaped serious injury.

“It was like a bomb went off,” one of the men, Adrian, told 7NEWS.

“I don’t know how you go that fast up that street, get airborne, skip over the driveway, over the lawn, and into the front window.

“It barely missed me and (fellow occupant) Adrian by like a foot.”

The dog, named Mojo, was initially trapped in the rubble but was later freed.

“It went straight over the top of him,” Adrian said.

“The dog survived, the dog’s good.”

A neighbour near the destroyed home, Paul Mugford, said he heard the incident unfold.

“All we heard was a car come across and hit the house,” Mr Mugford, 58, said.

“I was asleep and it woke my wife up. I just got up and there were blue lights (everywhere).”

Another neighbour, Natasha Wade, said she was shocked when she walked out to see the aftermath.

“We just saw the van in the front yard and we could see that the front of the house was destroyed,” Ms Wade, 45, said.

“We could see that it had gone in with a bit of force.”

SES members had to prop up the front wall of the house for safety.

The 27-year-old male driver from Milang sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mount Barker Hospital where he was treated and a blood sample was taken.

The van was towed from the scene.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.
