Loving mother Caroline Groenland has been remembered by her children as an “adoptive mum to all” after her pregnant daughter came home to find her unresponsive on the floor of her bedroom.

18-year-old Roslyn Byrne is devastated her mum will never meet her child who is due in six weeks.

On October 18, Ms Byrne left their Elizabeth Downs family home to have a driving lesson.

Before leaving, her mum hugged and kissed her and told her she “loved her”.

“It wasn’t just a random one either, it’s like she almost knew something was going to happen,” Ms Byrne said.

When Ms Byrne returned home she found her mum unresponsive on the floor of her bedroom.

Shattered, all she could do was scream for help as she ran out on the street.

“The whole neighbourhood could hear me, I was screaming in the middle of the road. I just dropped,” she said.

“The neighbours came out and they ran in the room and did CPR and the ambulance came.”

Ms Byrne, who is six weeks away from giving birth, ran to her aunty’s house across the road.

“I was banging on the door, screaming, I told her my mum’s dead.”

While paramedics worked to try to revive Ms Groenland, it was too late.

The full-time mum died of a suspected brain aneurysm after complaining of headaches for the past month.

She is remembered by her daughter are being “a very nice person”.

“She always helped others before herself,” Ms Byrne said.

Jasmine Miller, Ms Groenland’s 29-year-old daughter told The Advertiser her mum was “everyone’s adoptive mother”.

“She’d look after everyone,” she said.

Ms Miller said her mum loved everything supernatural and collected butterflies.

Both daughters said everyday was the best memory of their mum.

Ms Groenland was 52 years old.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David John Byrne, and her children Jasmine Marie Miller, Jesse James Miller, Roslyn Pauline Byrne and Vincent Darlly Byrne.
