THE intersection near The Maid Hotel at College Park was scheduled to reopen about 12.30pm after a leaking water main caused traffic congestion during peak hour Tuesday morning.

The leak was at the intersection of Fullarton, Payneham and Magill roads.

The Transport Department advised motorists to “avoid the area if possible” as SA Water crews worked to resurface the road.

SA Water said the overnight repairs were planned but were not completed until about 8.30am on Tuesday.

Traffic was down to one lane on Payneham Rd in each direction.

The hole caused delays as motorists drove to work during peak hour traffic.
