THE victims of serial paedophile Laurie John O'Shea say his two-year sentence for sex offences committed at a camp for underprivileged children in the 1970s is "bittersweet''.
In the Supreme Court yesterday, O'Shea was sentenced to two years' jail for 13 offences against seven victims aged between seven and 12. He is already in prison for similar offences.
Outside court , one of his victims said the penalty was too light.
"I'm very disappointed he only received two years and it's cost me 35 years of my life," David Allen said.
O'Shea had pleaded guilty to several charges of indecent assault, gross indecency and buggery at Camp Sunshine between 1975 and 1977. The camp was established by O'Shea and his wife via their Children's Foundation of SA charity.
