Largs Bay traffic blocked as boat comes off its trailer

Desperate efforts to winch the vessel back onto its trailer appeared doomed, a passer-by said.

The boat appeared to be blocking traffic on a Largs Bay roundabout.

Adelaide seaside travellers were caught in deep water when they found a boat blocked their path at a roundabout on Tuesday morning.

Beachgoers at Largs Bay were halted as the roundabout on Esplanade and Harrold St was blocked off by a yellow boat after 11am.

One motorist, Peter Tamar, stopped to assist the owner with reattaching his boat and clearing the road.

“I stopped to try to help,” Mr Tamar said.

“He tried to winch it back on, but no amount of manpower was going to get it back on.”

Mr Tamar said when he drove past at around midday, the boat was put safely back on the trailer.

“I drove past approx. 45 minutes later and saw an excavator leaving the scene and boat was back on trailer, parked around the corner.”
