An iconic restaurant in Adelaide’s CBD has been vandalised just a month after new owners took over the venue.
Among the new owners of La Trattoria is former Adelaide Crows boss Steven Trigg.
Police rushed to the King William St restaurant just after 11.30pm Thursday, after staff inside reported seeing a person throwing liquid and eggs over the window.
Metropolitan Fire Service crews also attended, and determined the liquid was engine oil.
There were also a number of scratches and graffiti marks on the window.
CCTV obtained by 7NEWS has uncovered a man walking on the street holding an umbrella and an oil can just before midnight.
It comes just after a month after the restaurant was sold after close to 50 years of ownership by Andy and Chris Parisi who opened the King William St venue at 1975.
Mr Trigg is among new shareholders including Penny’s Hill founder Tony Parkinson and long-serving front of house manager Billy Duff.
“The menu, the decorations, the seating, the atmosphere – it’s not going to change one iota,” said Mr Duff.
“Yes, it’s been sold but it’s been sold to me (and the other shareholders), and most people who’ve been to La Trat know me. Andy and Chris have worked so hard to build this legacy and we’re not about to change that.”
Mr Trigg was at a conference on Friday morning, but said he has not heard about the details of the vandalism attack.
He was seeking information from his management team.
