La Bomba to raise money for bushfire victims at Barrio Beats Latin Festival
World-renowned samba dancers have waived their appearance fees for an SA festival tomorrow after “jumping at the chance” to raise money for bushfire victims.

Latin lovers are getting their groove on to help SA bushfire victims and firefighters.
La Bomba is donating proceeds from entry fees to tomorrow’s Barrio Beats Latin Festival to the CFS Foundation, supporting volunteer firefighters, and Vinnies SA Bushfire Appeal.
Talita Santos Fontainha, who was born in Rio and is the reigning Australasian Samba Queen, choreographed dance routines for the London and Rio Olympics before moving to Adelaide in 2017.
“I have felt the devastation of bushfires in the Amazon jungle in my native Brazil,” she said. “I jumped at the chance to help organise a fundraiser.”
Also waiving her appearance fee, Antonia Enriquez de Salamanca said the festival was supporting two of the Adelaide Hills wineries affected by the bushfire – Bird in Hand and Petaluma – by selling their wines at the event.
Held in the Serbian Hall at Mary St, Hindmarsh, the 12-hour festival kicks off at 1pm.
The all-ages event will offer Spanish, Brazilian and South American-style food, craft stalls, activities for children, Latin dance workshops and entertainment by performers such as 10-piece salsa band Ah Hum! and the La Bomba dancers.
Entry is $10 for adults, $8 for concession holders and gold-coin donation for children.
