An Adelaide Hills service station greeted an unusual customer at the weekend, requiring the assistance of animal rescuers – but not before the cuddly creature mistook a worker for a tree.
CCTV catches the moment a koala strolled into the Ampol service station at Woodside.
A shocked customer watches by as the marsupial perused the aisles before wandering behind the counter and up to the cashier.
The koala proceeded to latch on to a worker’s leg.
The young man appears confused before saying, “I don’t know how to get him off”.
Shortly after, animal rescuers were called to the premises and safely returned the marsupial to its natural habitat.
