It is alleged she earlier stole some items from a Kmart store nearby.

But the woman ultimately left the trolley behind and fled the store without injuring anyone.

Police soon found the 28-year-old from Kilburn and arrested her. She was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of theft and carrying an offensive weapon.

She has been refused bail and will appear in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.

Fellow store owners in the Churchill Centre said they weren’t surprised the incident had occurred as there “seems to be something happening every day.”

“It happens so often and nothing is done about it,” a store owner who wished to remain anonymous told The Advertiser.

“Police showed up this time is because staff at Aldi were threatened with a weapon but store owners and managers have to deal with it.

“We’re not allowed to touch customers or get close to them, we can ask to inspect bags but that’s all the power we have.”

Aldi declined to comment on the incident, but confirmed no staff members were harmed.
