JED Radbone will spend his Christmas watching movies from his bed at the Women's and Children's Hospital.

The Wayville teenager, 13, is unable to move after breaking his pelvis in numerous places two weeks ago when the Gator utility buggy he was driving crashed.

"He wanted to do a James Bond roll out of the car and the canopy caught him and pinned him down, crushing his pelvis," Jed's mum, Tori Radbone, said.

"We were actually just checking into a hotel on the Gold Coast where we were for a Christmas party when we got the call.

"We basically just turned around and got the first plane back to Adelaide."

Jed will not be moving from his bed until after Christmas and is expected to be in hospital for another four weeks while his pelvis heals.

His parents and older brother Zac will spend the day at Jed's bedside watching movies.

"We'll definitely be spending the day in hospital with him," Mrs Radbone said.
