Insurer won’t budge beyond$100,000 compo offer to chemo bungle victims, five accept deal

A $100,000 compensation offer to victims of the chemotherapy bungle will not be increased and at least five of the victims will settle on the offered sum.

A $100,000 compensation offer to victims of the chemotherapy bungle will not be increased and at least five of the victims will settle on the offered sum.

Spokesman Andrew Knox, who was wrongly treated days after the mistake was discovered last year but is in remission, said attempts to increase the amount were met with an emphatic refusal from the State Government’s insurers, SAICORP.

“It’s another rejection,” Mr Knox said.

He will sign his acceptance of compensation tomorrow outside Parliament House, he said.
