TRIBUTES TO DR MICHAEL YUNG

Premier Peter Malinauskas

Dr Michael Yung was a great South Australian who dedicated his life to helping children in their hour of need, when they were their sickest. My thoughts are with Dr Yung’s family, friends and colleagues.

Dr Michael Yung was a talented, tireless and caring doctor, and an incredibly passionate advocate for a better SA public health system for our kids. Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends and workmates at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. An incomprehensible loss.

Rebecca Graham, Women’s and Children’s Health Network’s Interim CEO

I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and close colleagues on behalf of everyone here at WCHN. Dr Yung will also be greatly missed by the many families he has supported through some of the most difficult times in their lives and my heart goes out to them also.

The reason why Joseph is celebrating Christmas with us this year is because Dr Yung helped him in such a critical situation. Joseph is here now because of his care. In our darkest moments (Dr Yung) was there.

Dr Michael was the doctor on call in ICU. They were going to perform a procedure and basically Dr Michael shut the procedure down and said he wouldn’t perform it unless he was dying because it was very risky. All the doctors were great in ICU, but if there were any doctors I wanted in the room that day, it was Doctor Michael.

Lauren Papps

Dealt with him last week when my son was in ICU, he pushed for answers for us and was incredibly nice and full of knowledge, so sad.

Julie Maree Borg

RIP sending my condolences to his family thank you for Ur services at the WCH and thank you for treating my daughter.

Tara Jasmine

Had the honour of having his care for my son in the ICU. Such a sad sad loss for the medical community and so much love to the family.

Kirsty Whitehead

He was the one doctor who listened to me. I had been to many about a spot I was worried about in my daughter’s skull. It was dismissed until this doctor listened and found that she had a hole in her skull and that her skull was eating itself away. He saved her.

Sally Shaw

He was one of the doctors that saved my grandson that was in NICU for nearly 3 months – it’s such a sad loss when he spent his life saving others.
