Pro-Palestinine rally leader Habibah Jaghoori has made an extraordinary claim about Hezbollah’s slain terrorist leader at a rally in Adelaide.

Protest organiser’s ‘sickening hatred’ revealed

Pro-Palestinian rally leader Habibah Jaghoori has compared Hezbollah’s slain leader with Nelson Mandela at a rally on the steps of state parliament.

Ms Jaghoori is the face of the Lil Aqsa group that successfully applied for a permit to run pro-Palestine events on Sunday and on Monday – the anniversary of the Hamas atrocities against Israel.

At the Sunday rally where around 100 people attended, the activist and former University of Adelaide student magazine editor finished her eight-minute speech by comparing the great South African freedom fighter with terrorist organisation Hezbollah’s recently slain leader.

“Nelson Mandela was (once) … designated as a terrorist,” she said.

“Hassan Nasrellah – Israel killing him was a war crime and he is a designated terrorist.”

Nasrallah was killed on September 27 in an Israeli air-strike on Beirut.

Ms Jaghoori, a former uni student magazine editor, has made social media posts praising Hezbollah’s deceased leader after seemingly declaring attacks on Israel were “beyond magnificent”.

On Thursday, SA Police said officers would not intervene to stop the rally on Sunday and the “vigil” planned for Monday by Palestinian supporters.

They warned anyone with Hezbollah flags or posters would face police action. The only flags at the rally were Palestinian and Lebanese.

The Advertiser repeatedly asked Ms Jaghoori if she supported Hezbollah.

She did not directly answer the question, repeatedly saying: “Armed resistance is a human right under the UN Convention.”

Other activists who delivered speeches at the rally also compared Gaza to apartheid South Africa.

One speaker chanted “from the River to the Sea”, often taken to be a call for the elimination of the state of Israel. That woman, who would not give her full name, said that, to her, the term meant a “land free of genocide and occupation”.
