12/23New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City. The museum opened this stunning new building, on Bowery St, in 2007. It was designed by Japan’s Sejima/SANAA and New York-based firm Gensler. It was named one of the architectural New Seven Wonders of the World by Conde Nast Traveler in 2008.
13/23The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art was designed by American architect Richard Meier Partners and its architectural style has strong references to Modernism.
14/23The Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein is the state museum of modern and contemporary art in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.
15/23Temporary Serpentine Pavillion by Japanese architect Toyo Ito, in 2002. The gallery is in Kensington Gardens, home to the contemporary Serpentine Galleries. Each year since 2000, the gallery has commission a temporary summer pavillion by a leading architect. Ito erected the building you see here in 2002.
16/23Hyogo Prefectrual Museum of Art, in Kobe, Japan. The museum was designed by the famed architect Tadao Ando and was opened in 2002.
