NO jab, no pay changes that kick in on Monday, will see parents who don’t vaccinate their children miss out on about $28 a fortnight.
The Federal Government is cracking down on people who don’t keep their children’s immunisations up to date. They will lose part of their Family Tax Benefit Part A.
Social Services Minister Dan Tehan said getting less cash would be a “constant reminder”.
“Immunisation is the safest way to protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases,” he said.
“Parents who don’t immunise their children are putting their own kids at risk as well as the children of other people.”
Children with certain medical issues or natural immunity are exempt.
