LAST election’s most controversial election battle will unfold again in 2018.

Liberal preselectors have selected Carolyn Habib to again take on Labor’s Annabel Digance in the key battleground seat of Elder.

A huge row erupted over an attack flyer distributed by the ALP in the lead-up to the last election, condemned as “filthy” and “racist” by a furious Liberal Party.

The flyer questioned whether voters could “trust Habib”, who is of Lebanese heritage, set against a brick wall.

The SA Labor Party has repeatedly denied the pamphlet was racist, but Federal Labor MP Ed Husic disagreed, dubbing the flyer “bad” and calling on the party to apologise to Ms Habib.

Elder, held by Ms Digance since 2014, is a notionally Liberal seat under the new electoral boundaries.
