A South Australian woman whose long history of driving offences was revealed after she died in a horror interstate crash alongside three teenagers has been farewelled at a funeral service in Adelaide’s northeast.

Friends and family gathered on Thursday afternoon to remember and celebrate the life of Alicia Montebello.

Mourners gathered at the Heritage Chapel at Harrison Funerals where they remembered the “beautiful daughter” and “adored sister”.

A funeral notice, posted in The Advertiser earlier this month, stated Ms Montebello had a “heart of gold”.

“We will always remember your incredible smile, how you always joked around, your love, loyalty, kindness and courage,” it said.

“We love you more than life itself. We will miss you dearly.”

Ms Montebello, 31, and teenagers Joshua Elmes, 15, Lucas Garzoli, 14 and Meghan Fox, 14 died when the Toyota Corolla they were travelling in slammed into a tree at Bochara, outside of Hamilton in western Victoria on the morning of May 27.

It is unclear who was driving.

Jorja Fox, 17, understood to be the sister of Meghan, survived the crash and was taken to hospital.

On Thursday, Ms Montebello’s loved ones gathered at the Harrison Heritage Chapel at Ridgehaven to farewell her.

It is understood she lived in Mount Gambier before moving to Hamilton, about 125km away.

According to social media, she had lived in Adelaide and attended Golden Grove High School

After the tragedy, it was revealed Ms Montebello, who moved to Victoria about a year before the crash, racked up a long list of driving offences while living in SA.

Court documents revealed in January 2015, Ms Montebello was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle and was over the legal blood alcohol limit.

Her licence was disqualified for four months and 14 days.

In February 2016, she was charged with driving with a disqualified licence and failing to display P plates and ordered to serve a 12-day prison sentence, which was later suspended, as well as having her licence disqualified again.

Her vehicle was impounded on both occasions and she was ordered to pay court costs.
