A 17-year-old girl who died suddenly on Sunday from an asthma attack has been remembered as a “beautiful girl” in an Instagram post shared by friend.
@arabellaoctavia posted a moving tribute to Instagram on Monday evening with pictures of herself and Breeana Wood at school.
“Gone from my sight, but never from my heart, rest easy my beautiful girl,” the post read.
Other friends have shared their grief online, posting pictures to their social media stories and touching comments have begun to accumulate on Breeana’s most recent Instagram post.
Breeana called Kimba home, but was boarding at Immanuel College during her Year 12 studies.
She celebrated her 17th birthday on September 1 and passed her provisional driver’s licence test.
Breeana’s mother Jacqui Larwood marked the momentous occasion with a humorous post to her Facebook page, showing Breeana standing proudly alongside a car with P plates.
The post read “I officially have a P plate driver in the household” and was accompanied by an emoji covering its face.
Breeana regularly posted content to her own social media platforms and could be seen enjoying life on a country farm and travelling, including a recent holiday to Australia’s east coast.
She also shared other passions online, documenting social outings with friends, her modelling portfolio and favourite musicians.
Breeana posted a portrait of herself on Instagram just two days ago with the caption “reliving this moment”. The post has since attracted comments from friends and loved ones. “Rest easy” said one, “missing you so much” and “forever in our hearts” said others.
White heart emojis have also been left on the post by friends.
Immanuel College principal Kevin Richardson distributed a letter on Monday to notify the school community of Breeana’s death.
“It is with very great sadness that I inform you of the death of one of our boarders last night,” the letter said.
“Breeana Wood, from Kimba, passed away as a result of an asthma attack.”
“We join with Breeana’s family in grief, and it is times such as these that the strength and empathy of our College community comes to the fore as we support each other with our thoughts, our love and our prayers.”
Mr Richardson confirmed there are support measures in place for students, staff and other members of the school community.
