THE Oaklands Park lair where depraved paedophile Shannon McCoole was caught running an international child pornography network is on the market.

The three-bedroom, one-bathroom Morphett Rd property was home to the former Families SA social worker and where police closed the net on his horrific child-sex offending in June 2014.

Listed through real estate company Raine and Horne, the home is said to offer a “great location” and “endless possibilities” for prospective buyers.

It is described as a “perfect location for young families” with schools nearby and situated on a large corner block. The advertised price is between $495,000 and $515,000.

The Sunday Mail understands McCoole was renting the property from his father when detectives found more than 100,000 images and 600 video files of child exploitation material.

More than three years on and the McCoole family is ready to part ways with the property. It is believed there has been little interest in the home, which has been for sale for about three weeks. There are no inspections scheduled.

McCoole is awaiting the decision of an appeal against his 35-year sentence for the sexual abuse of vulnerable children in his care.

He was jailed for a minimum of 28 years in 2015 – and described by the sentencing judge as “evil and depraved” - after admitting to horrifying and sickening sex offences against seven children.

They were as young as 18 months old. One had autism and another was disabled.

McCoole was also in charge of an international child pornography network website, which had thousands of members.

Australian police were tipped off to McCoole’s position as “CEO” of the network by Dutch police in May 2014.

His case also sparked a royal commission into South Australia’s child protection system.
