THE former head of Annesley College's boarding house has won her unfair dismissal claim against the school - but will receive just 2 per cent of the damages she sought.

Rebecca Ramsay filed a $2.25 million Supreme Court lawsuit against the college last year, saying it had wrongly fired her in 2008.

She claimed she had been "summarily dismissed" over "trivial" complaints made by other staff borne of "petty jealousies".

Ms Ramsay further claimed the college failed to follow its own internal policies by firing her, and should have instead mediated inter-staff disputes.

This afternoon, Justice Malcolm Blue found in favour of Ms Ramsay, saying her lawsuit "had been successful".

He awarded damages in the sum of $47,081.95, with interest and court costs to be determined.

Justice Blue gave a copy of his judgment to counsel for both parties, asking they reach an agreement on those issues before he makes formal orders in a fortnight.
