The cinema’s old Chelsea sign will be replaced and the facade will be upgraded in June, the Eastern Courier Messenger reports.
Burnside Council had set aside $85,000 in its 2011/12 budget to upgrade the heritage-listed cinema’s frontage, including painting, cleaning and gutter repairs.
Michael Todd co-owner of Republic Theatres, which took over the Kensington Rd theatre in February, said the old Chelsea sign would be replaced within the next two weeks.
