A beloved western suburbs florist has announced a shock closure, blaming a poor work/life balance and a “terrible economy”.
Flowers By Lottie, in Mile End, will close its doors next month after a number of years in operation that included taking out the coveted South Australian Florist of the Year award.
With more than 20 years of experience as a florist, owner Charlotte said the time had come “to close the door to our happy place”.
“We have decided not to continue in this terrible economy and bow out while we are still slightly ahead,” she wrote on Facebook.
“We are well and truly exhausted and very much need to correct our work/life balance.
“We are still open and running as normal with beautiful fresh flowers and will continue to do so up to and including Valentine’s Day.
“Wholeheartedly, we thank you all so very much for supporting Flowers by Lottie thus far! The enormity of gratitude that we have towards each and everyone of you is immeasurable.”
Charlotte, who was born in the UK, has achieved multiple 1st place entries and accolades from a number of floristry competitions.
Flowers By Lottie will operate up until at least February 14, with a closing down sale to start shortly after.
