Finnish F1 sensation Valtteri Bottas has continued his sightseeing tour around South Australia, making a pit stop to feed kangaroos in the Adelaide Hills before heading to picturesque Kangaroo Island.
The 34-year-old Alfa Romeo driver shared snaps on social media of his bike ride though Uraidla in the Hills.
During the ride, Bottas had stopped to feed a kangaroo while also posting a photo of three others that he spotted near a lake.
“Adelaide Hills is always an amazing place to visit,” Bottas wrote on the post.
Later, he and Adelaide partner, Olympic road cyclist Tiffany Cromwell, hopped on the ferry across to Kangaroo Island, posing for a photo with young fan, Lachie, aged 3.
Lachie’s mum, Phoebe Pitt, said they had a quick chat with Bottas, who she described as “very friendly”.
“We live in the Hills and have seen him and Tiffany around before, at our favourite local coffee shop and around KI, too, since arriving,” she said.
“He was very friendly, seems down to earth and relaxed – he blends in perfectly.”
Bottas also posted snaps and video of another bike ride with Cromwell across scenic KI.
There are rumours that the high-profile sporting couple are staying at luxurious Southern Ocean Lodge, which reopened earlier this month after it was destroyed during the 2020 KI bushfires.
Accommodation at the world-class resort starts at $3400 a night but with Bottas’s annual salary of $10 million, it’s well within the couple’s price-range.
Last week, Bottas shared another discovery while riding through the Hills, after he had stopped to snap a picture with an alpaca on a farm.
“Making new friends,” he wrote on the Instagram post.
He was joined by Cromwell – who is originally from Stirling in the Hills – who captured the picture of Bottas pouting at the alpaca.
They have also dined at acclaimed Norwood restaurant, Arkhe, on the Parade.
