A video of a truck driver navigating a wide load around a bend through a township east of the Barossa Valley has gone viral.
A video posted by SA media personality Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello shows the massive load being towed through Truro in a clip he said had been viewed more than one million times.
“Hats off to our South Aussie truck drivers,” he posted.
“Imagine how stressful driving a wide load would be through towns.
“Total admiration for the talent it takes to be a truck driver.”
Cosi said he was returning to Adelaide after a few days filming in the Riverland when traffic had to pull over to allow the driver to pass.
“Truck drivers should be commended, look at him, look at all the wheels on it, can you imagine having to drive this,” he said in the video.
Cosi’s admiration was shared with hundreds of followers commenting on the post, paying tribute to the skills of Australian truck drivers.
One poster said they had come across the wide load on the road and believed it was 4.8 metres wide and the truck was carrying a power substation unit.
Motorists reported the convoy had four pilot cars both in front and behind the wide load.
