Family of Adelaide man Ian Lees, missing for two months, hold grave concerns for his welfare

The family of a man who has been missing in Adelaide’s northeast for six weeks is pleading for information while police renew their appeal to the public.

The distraught family of a man who has not been seen in nearly two months in Adelaide’s northeast is pleading to anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward

Police are renewing their appeal for information for Ian Lees, who was last seen on Farleigh Ave at Modbury North on Tuesday, March 1, in the early hours of the morning.

It is understood Mr Lees was heading towards Fairleigh Reserve.

He was sighted in Civic Park on North East Rd the evening before his disappearance and left his phone there.

The 53-year-old has not been seen or heard from since.

Mr Lees’ niece Grace Lees sent a plea to the public for help.

“It has been almost seven weeks with minimal information and we are urging people from all areas of Adelaide and surrounds to keep an eye out,” Ms Lees said.

“We are missing our uncle greatly and struggling with the unknown of the situation.

“He is a lovely man and we are very concerned.

“Someone has to know something and we beg that if you know or suspect anything please come forward so our family can have some answers.”

Police will be stationed out the front of Tea Tree Plaza shopping centre from 12pm on Thursday handing out flyers in a bid to generate information from members of the public.

Police have conducted multiple searches including with STAR group, dog operations, Mounted Operations and the State Emergency Services for Mr Lees in recent weeks.

Mr Lees has not used his bank accounts since he first went missing.

The missing man is 175cm tall. of slim build, about 50kg with grey hair and was last seen wearing a black Metallica T-shirt, black pants and a black baseball cap.

Police have serious concerns for Mr Lees’ welfare and urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
