In an Instagram post, owners of F45 Glenelg said the business had become a “wonderful community space” over the years, and that it was a “shock” that they had to close their doors.

“We have been so lucky to have had so many amazing members over the years who have been incredibly loyal and supportive of the studio,” the post read.

“We have welcomed all levels of fitness, different aged groups, visitors from interstate & around the world, work experience students plus sporting groups during this time.

“As you can imagine this has come as a shock to us all and we understand you may have many questions.

“We as a team would love to go out with a positive attitude and continue providing you with a friendly smiley service for the remaining few weeks, so we ask kindly that you respect the decision that has been made and avoid any negativity.”

At its peak, the iconic F45 brand was once valued at a staggering $2bn, but in recent years several branches close across Australia since February 2023.

Former owner, Kieran McDowell commented on the post, saying it was a “sad announcement” for the studio and its members.

“Those four walls hold an immense amount of memories and achievements shared by hundreds of people over the years,” he said.

“Every single person that’s been involved, especially to the team I was privileged to work alongside while I was owner, you should be incredibly proud of the impact you’ve had.

“Thank you to all the members who supported the business over the eight years of its lifespan.”
