EXTRAORDINARY footage, shot using a drone, has revealed the scale of flooding and the remarkable volumes of water rushing down Adelaide’s Torrens River system.
The footage was taken on Friday morning around Gorge Rd, at the beginning of the Linear Park, at Athelstone.
It gives a bird’s eye view of the swollen floodwaters, which have has left parks, playgrounds, gym equipment and seating submerged as it rushes urgently to the mouth of the river at West Beach.
These pictures follow an unprecented 72 hours of severe weather that has caused havoc across South Australia and left the entire state without electricity on Wednesday afternoon.
