FORMER Premier Mike Rann’s beloved State Strategic Plan has been ditched by the Steven Marshall Government after more than a decade.
The plan, first released in 2004, was a blueprint for the state with about 100 aspirational targets for everything from population growth to trade exports and health outcomes.
The Strategic Plan, that had been tweaked regularly, has been used as a guide for government department’s and agencies since 2004.
But the website for the plan was deleted on Friday night.
A government spokesman told the Sunday Mail the strategic direction for government agencies will now be provided by the Cabinet and through the state budget.
“The new state government was elected with a detailed policy agenda to deliver more jobs, lower costs and better government services,” he said.
“We want the public service to be focused on delivering outcomes for South Australians instead of having to focus on a failed Labor document.”
