‘Explosions’ have been felt on the LeFevre Peninsula, shaking houses and prompting residents to take to Facebook to report their concerns.

Earlier today, Maurice Corcoran posted to private Facebook group ‘You know you’re in Port Adelaide/LeFevre Peninsula when …’ about ‘hearing explosions going off’ near Largs Bay.

Mr Corcoran went on to say his house was rattling approximately every 15 minutes.

“They seem to be getting louder and more frequent with the house rattling significantly,” he said.

Members of the group shared their own experiences in the comment section.

“I was down at Semaphore and kept hearing it, I thought I was losing my mind,” Leah Baguley said.

“I was outside between 12 and 12.30pm today, there was a boom and I heard the red brick wall of our house I was standing next to rumble and move,” Louise Maloney said.

“It’s louder at North Haven, the dogs ran for cover,” Denise De Peinder said.

Users speculated the cause of the commotion, with some suggesting the cause was weapon testing in Proof Range near Port Wakefield.

The Department of Defence has been contacted for comment.
