Excavator fire closes roads in western suburbs around Findon
Multiple roads in Adelaide’s west will be closed for hours after an excavator burst into flames, with residents warned to stay inside.

Authorities expect roads will be closed for hours in Adelaide’s western suburbs because of an excavator fire, the second such incident this week.
Emergency services are responding to the fire at Findon, which is burning near gas lines.
Smoke is drifting through Findon and surrounding suburbs, with residents advised by police to remain indoors and close their doors and windows until it clears.
They expect the fire will burn for hours and have closed surrounding roads.
Bridgman Rd from Findon Rd and Hammond Rd, the southern end of Whimpress Ave from Rudolph Ave, the southern end of Norman St from Richardson Ave and the length of Barry Drive are all closed.
The fire comes after an excavator was destroyed in a late-night arson attack at a Prospect school on Sunday.
Fire services were called to Rosary School on Gladstone Rd at around 11.30pm.
While firefighters doused the blaze, the excavator was destroyed.
