Most days, the male osprey goes fishing in the surrounding waters, bringing live fish back to the nest.

To stop the thrashing fish injuring the fragile two-week-old chicks, the female quickly dispatches its catch by taking off the head while the male holds it steady.

The barge, bought by a local charter company so the birds have a safe place to nest, has been home to the family for three years.
