Elderly man’s body found after Campbelltown house fire

Fire crews called to a house fire in Adelaide on Saturday afternoon have made a tragic discovery.

An elderly man’s body was found after a small house fire in Campbelltown.

The alarm was raised over the blaze about 12pm Saturday at the Avenida St home.

By the time crews arrived at the scene it had put itself out, and they located the body of a man, 90, in the same room,

Police could not say if the man’s death was caused by the fire.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report is being prepared by the Coroner.

It comes after an elderly man died in a shed fire at Modbury Heights last year.

Neighbours paid tribute to the lovely man who was an icon of Currawong Crescent after the incident that happened on July 4 2021.

The 73-year-old man’s body was found after a fire broke out in the rear shed.
