Adelaide has recorded its coldest morning this year, as other regional areas struggle to reach 1C.
On Monday morning about 6.30am, Adelaide was forecast at 4C at the West Tce gauge, the coldest temperature in about nine months.
“The last time we saw temperatures this cold was back in September, where we saw 3.7C,” Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Jenny Horvat said.
The chilly temperatures were also recorded in regional towns including Renmark, which was -1C, Loxton at -0.1C and Keith at 0C.
Adelaide is forecast to reach a maximum of 15C, and a frost warning was issued for the Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and Upper South East.
A high pressure system will move east from Tuesday and sunshine will return, with Adelaide set to reach 16C with clear skies.
Rain is set to return on Wednesday as up to 3mm will fall in Adelaide.
Last Wednesday, Adelaide experienced one of its foggiest mornings so far this winter, prompting a road weather alert.
