FORMER Adelaide Crow Rhett Biglands has posted footage of a thief stealing door knobs from his city sports store on social media — prompting an avalanche of bad puns.
In the footage, shot on Wednesday night and released last night, the man is seen stopping at the Nike store in Rundle Mall and looking inside before twisting the knobs from the door.
He manages to yank three knobs off but is unable to get the fourth before leaving.
“With everything you have to worry about with owning a business in retail and you get this pelican at 9pm last night ....and he steals my $30 glass knobs from China - really ya loser?” Biglands posted on his Facebook page.
When contacted by The Advertiser, Biglands, who played 138 games for Adelaide between 2000 and 2008, made light of the theft.
“He obviously wasn’t very happy with his knob, so he had to take mine,” he joked.
Adelaide midfield gun Rory Sloane chipped in, saying: “This bloke needs to get a handle on life”, to which Biglands replied: “Rory Sloane your Dad’s joke book isn’t far away.”
Biglands, who can also be heard on Triple M, said the glass knobs were only worth about $30 but had to be imported from China so it might be weeks until they are replaced.
