Dashcam footage has emerged showing a white Tesla driving erratically on the South-Eastern Freeway.
The footage, captured on Sunday and posted to Dashcams Adelaide Facebook group, shows the damaged car nearly hitting several other vehicles.
Police confirmed the elderly driver of the car had a medical episode, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
The video shows the car driving out-of-control down the uptrack of the freeway.
The car then nearly hits the bonnet of another car before driving on to the median strip again.
The man was taken to hospital after the car crashed about 12.30pm on Sunday.
There are no reports of any other injuries.
Molly Luo, a university student who was in a car that narrowly missed being hit, told 7News of her fear seeing the car come barrelling toward her.
“Half a second faster and he would be probably dead,” she said.
“He was out of control you don’t know which way he was going to turn.
“We can hear the Tesla driver banging onto like the side of the bank or something.
“Then there was debris from his car smashing onto our car.”
This comes after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Adelaide’s inner south on Thursday night.
Police attended the incident at about 7pm on Fiveash Dr at Pasadena where an 82-year-old man had been hit by a car near Day Dr.
The 82-year-old was taken to Flinders Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries.
Police said they had spoken to the driver of the car the man was hit by, and Major Crash investigators had attended the accident scene.
