Cyclist dies in Augusta Highway crash at Redhill
A cyclist has died after a crash that caused a major highway in the Mid North to close for nearly 12 hours, with trucks stuck on the road.

A cyclist has died in a crash with a van at Redhill in the Mid North.
The collision happened at the intersection of the Augusta Highway and Torrs Gap Rd, just before 3pm on Saturday.
The cyclist, a 69-year-old Norton Summit man, died at the scene.
The 48-year-old Western Australian van driver, who was also towing a trailer, was uninjured.
Major Crash investigators are investigating the crash, which resulted in the closure of the Augusta Highway between Clements Rd and Adey Rd for nearly 12 hours and forced trucks to wait on the highway.
The road was reopened before midnight.
Police have appealed for anyone with dashcam footage, or who saw the cyclist before the crash, to call Crime Stoppers and provide information.
The cyclist’s death takes the number of lives lost on the state’s roads to 46, compared with 43 at the same time last year.
