Cremorne Hotel named as best hotel in South Australia at industry awards night

An inner south suburban hotel has been crowned the best in the state. Find out what else they won and the full list of winners here.

An Unley hotel has been recognised as the Best Overall Hotel in the state at the Australian Hotel Association (AHA) awards on Tuesday evening.

The Cremorne took out three awards on the night commending its bar presentation, bistro dining and overall experience.

After reopening in September 2021 following renovations, the judges of the awards said the “transformative revamp” embraced a “vibrant and casually elegant ambience.”

They also noted the continued “high level of excellence” in their dining, bar, sports entertainment, retail facilities, entertainment and gaming options all in a “clean and stunning contemporary setting.”

The winner of the Best Overall Hotel in the Country division was the historic McLaren Vale Hotel, whose redevelopment and contributions to the promotion of the McLaren Vale region was also commended.

Those looking for the best overall hotel for accommodation should visit Mount Lofty House, who have won 2023’s overall accommodation experience along with their Luxury experience with Sequoia Lodge.

Hotels from across regional and metropolitan SA celebrated their peers with awards across 42 categories ranging from dining, liquor, presentation, accommodation, entertainment and more.

Patrons looking for the best quality draft beer will find it at the Elephant British Pub in Adelaide.

The venues where visitors will find the best restaurant are The Brompton in the metropolitan area, and the Watervale Hotel for those closer to the country.

Two hotels took out the crown for the best metropolitan redeveloped hotel, Kent Town Hotel and the Clovey.

The awards ceremony saw more than 900 people gather at the entertainment centre and AHA|SA chief executive Anna Moeller said it was a delight to honour all of the winners on the night.

“The AHA|SA Hotel Awards for Excellence is a celebration of the accomplishments of SA’s hotels, where we come together to celebrate their outstanding facilities, service and delivery,” Ms Moeller said.

“Congratulations to the Cremorne Hotel, the McLaren Vale Hotel and Mount Lofty House for achieving best in class in their respective categories, and to all winners of the 2023 Hotel Awards for Excellence
