The North South Motorway near Wingfield was closed for nearly five hours on Tuesday, as police responded to a mental health incident.
The motorway was closed at 1.41pm, after reports of a man threatening self harm by the interchange south bound off ramp, near Wing St.
Traffic was blocked in both directions as the incident unfolded.
By 6.50pm the motorway had reopened.
