A man accused of threatening a woman with a firearm has been arrested alongside his partner after a stash of drugs and guns were allegedly found in his car and inner southern suburbs home.

Billy Jaye Hayes, 32, fronted the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday facing a series of charges, including threatening to kill or endanger life and three counts of possessing a firearm.

He also faces four counts of trafficking a controlled drug as well as traffic offences.

According to court documents, Hayes, of Everard Park, allegedly went to a Torrensville address last Thursday and threatened to kill a woman. The documents further allege he used or threatened to use a firearm during the incident.

Police said the next day Hayes was driving in Everard Park when a patrol followed him before he came to a stop on David Ave in Black Forest. He allegedly attempted to run but was arrested a short distance away.

When police searched the vehicle, they allegedly found a loaded .22 sawn-off rifle, a sawn-off shotgun, ammunition, cannabis, 30g of ecstasy, 100g of methamphetamine, 4g of cocaine, an amount of cash and other drug paraphernalia.

A 33-year-old Blair Athol woman, who was also at the address, was arrested without incident and charged with one count of possessing a firearm.

The duo were both refused police bail.

Hayes appeared briefly via video, where the court set his charge determination hearing for September 24 at Adelaide Magistrates Court.

His co-accused, who Hayes referred to as his “partner” in court, has been identified as Samantha Kane. The court heard that Kane is a mother-of-two.

She is scheduled to next appear at the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on June 25.
