Coopers Brewery is shouting 15,000 free beers across the nation, to help pubs get back on their feet and celebrate the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
Coopers, which itself had to put 13,000 kegs down the drain when pubs were shut, will be footing the bill for tabs at 335 metro and country pubs over coming weeks.
Coopers managing director Dr Tim Cooper said they wanted to encourage people to get out and support their local.
“Pubs have been doing it extremely tough over these past months,’’ Dr Cooper said.
“These are often family-run small businesses employing dedicated and hardworking local people. As a family business ourselves, we understand the enormous pressure this places on everyone involved.
“Now as the social restrictions are eased across the states and territories, we can all play a part in the recovery and enjoy a beer with friends in the process.’’
Crown and Anchor bartender Amaya Diaz said it had been great to be able to get back to work recently.
“Our customers have been really understanding and there has been a sense of community in getting through this together.”
Coopers will work directly with the selected venues in each state and territory to schedule the Coopers pub tabs.
