A Christies Beach woman has come forward as Adelaide’s mystery lottery winner, claiming she had no idea that she had won more than $3 million.

The X Lotto division one prize worth $3.3 million went unclaimed for nearly three weeks, until the mystery winner revealed herself.

“It took a little longer for me to check my ticket, so I had no idea pretty much this whole time,” the winner said.

She told an official from The Lott she was “overwhelmed” when she found out how much she had won.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes.”

“I was just going, ‘It’s not true. It’s not true’.”

She said the money provided the “perfect opportunity” for her to help her family.

“That’s always what’s most important.”

Vanessa Griffin, manager of the Colonnades newsagency in Noarlunga which sold the winning ticket said the team were “ecstatic” when the winner finally came forward.

“It’s so exciting,” Ms Griffin said.

“We wish the division one winner all the very best and a huge congratulations on this life changing win.”

The winning ticket was one of six division one winners in the February 15 draw, and one of two in South Australia.
